BACKGROUND

Our Founder’s Story

Just out of high school and searching for a life-changing career, NLF’s Founder, Steve Damicus, was intrigued with the healing power of Chiropractic. He strived to learn more, with plans to enter Chiropractic school.

Unfortunately, in 1992, Steve’s plan abruptly changed. His life was turned completely upside down. He was struck by a drunk driver, traveling in excess of 98 miles per hour.

Steve survived the impact, but was left in a coma for six days, then hospitalization for over six months. Steve required extensive treatment, enduring a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with significant memory loss, and other life-changing side effects.

This left him unable to fulfill his goal to become a Chiropractor. However, he was able to help other Chiropractors reach their goals.

With an unbridled passion for natural health through Chiropractic, he partnered with his best friend and Mentor, Dr Keppen Laszlo. Steve provided the marketing, with an emphasis on professional Chiropractic Screenings. Together, the practice grew and thrived.

In 2005, after helping grow the office into a highly successful practice with 600+ patients per week, Steve branched out to help other Chiropractors grow too, offering a WIN-WIN for Patients & Doctors by negotiating a substantial discount for Patients’ initial visits. With the burden of high cost removed for the initial two visits, Patients get the care they need, with time to build a long-lasting relationship with a Chiropractor they trust! With that simple philosophy, the Natural Living Foundation was born!

Nearly twenty years later, the Natural Living Foundation has helped over 20,000 people in the Denver area find the right Chiropractor near them.

NLF now represents 13 Natural Chiropractic offices in the Denver metro area, including Steve’s first office, Dr. Laszlo!
